Love Campaign: Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentines Day!  Sending you all much love and blessings!  Today, I am featuring another cute photo taken courtesy of Vikki Dinh Photography. This sweet little girt all dressed in pink inspired a pink-themed girlie canvas design.  Here is the before photo...

Still taking submissions for my February Love Campaign!

Submission Guidelines:

How does this work you might say?  Submit to me your favorite photo — any photo that you would like to turn into an heirloom, a piece of art or a “just want to see what you can do with this” kind of project.  I will perform my magic and return to you a digital image — you can do what you want with this digital image.  Post it on your Facebook account, print it yourself or by any photolab, use it for scrapbooking, post it on your blog.  Whatever makes your heart sing!  AND, if you decide you really, really love the final results and would like it printed onto canvas or as a print, I have pro accounts with the finest photolabs in the country and can hook you up.

How do you submit your photo?  Just send your image (300 dpi resolution works best if you plan to have it printed) along with your idea to ArtsyCanvasGirl@ymail.com.  In the event you have trouble describing what you want you can even send me an example image of a style you’ve seen.  It’s that simple. Really, just send an email and imagine what you want and I will do my magic.Don’t let this opportunity pass you by!
Happy Valentine's Day!

Love Campaign: Dancing in the Rain!

Photo submitted by Jen
I received my first submission for the February Love campaign and it couldn't have been more perfect!  A photo of the most adorable little girl splashing in puddles!  Just melted my heart!  The proud momma, Jen, had no specific idea in mind.  She just wanted to see what I would do with her photo.  The sweet innocence of the photo is what captured my heart.  So I tried to create an image that enhanced the innocence of the little girl. I couldn't stop at just one version...in fact, most times I will do a couple of ideas.  Which edit do you like best?

Edit #3
I will post the creations of the various submissions through out the month of February.  Would you like to submit a photo?  I will accept photo submissions during the month of February.

Fun, Fun, Fun...

Sorry for not blogging lately... I've been very busy playing oops! I mean working on canvases and having so much fun.  Just a couple of my recent works...

"Chugga chugga choo choo! " is all I could think of while I was working on this one.  What a gorgeous photo -- another beautiful photo by my very talented colleague Vikki Dinh!

Then, I got busy working on the cutest little girl...Here is the original photo.

Then I added some magical photo editing and embellishments of meaningful words...

Did you know you can click on any of my images and they will enlarge? Click to enlarge!
Then I thought, let's play a little more.  So I cropped a panoramic view for fun.  I think panoramic canvases create a kind of modern or current feel to your photo.

Finally, because she just has one of those absolutely gorgeous fresh looks, I tightened in a portrait crop.  I love this one the best!

Beautiful Kayla!
What do you think?  Have a wonderful fun, fun, fun day!

Love, Love, Love...

Here's my latest project... My client is giving this to her sister-in-law as a bridal gift.  What a wonderfully, meaningful gift!  I immediately fell in love with the quote she wanted to have inscribed on the canvas -- So deep in my heart that you're really a part of me.  Beautiful words that express true unconditional love.  Aaah, so romantic!  And isn't that what we all want deep down inside, someone who truly loves you to the depth that they actually feel like a part of us!  This was quite a fun project because my client wanted to color enhance the original photo.  Here are some color samples I provided early in the design process along with the original photo (You may click on each sample to see the image in a larger format).  You can see that there are some many options in creating a beautiful canvas of your life!

Original photo
Colorless

Soft light

Dramatic B&W
Did you know that a traditional photo tends to lose its color within 10 to 20 years?  With the right combination of ink and canvas during the printing process, a canvas will hold its color for at least a hundred years.  It is a great way to preserve a beloved picture and, at the same time, the photo can be enjoyed in your home every day.

Daughter's Letter to Father

This recent piece of work strikes particularly close to my heart.  I was recently asked to do a canvas that would incorporate a father and daughter portrait with a beautifully written letter.  The very special letter was written by the daughter to her father for Father's Day...  And it was especially important to me because the father in the portrait is the special man in my life who I love and adore.  The canvas was to be a surprise gift and he had not received the letter as this point.  Needless to say, the beautifully written letter touched my heart...So with tears flowing, I began to work on the canvas.  With letter in hand, I received a photo that really captured the beauty of their relationship, but the snapshot was taken at a family event and the background and lighting was not the most ideal.  Here is the before and after results...

I love the final results!  By the way, Artsy Canvas Girl is partnering with Certifikid - a business formed by a Washington DC family to offer all that the DC area has to offer for families at majorly reduced prices.  I will be featured as the deal of the weekend starting this Friday and running through Sunday.  So, check out the unbelievable discount being offered.  Even if you are not in the DC area some of the deals offered at Certifikid are from businesses like mine that can provide their services to anywhere!  Isn't technology wonderful!  Love and Blessings!
